The City of Arcadia strives to make fair policy to preserve the housing stock and keep residents safe. The City's housing policy are led by the three ordinances as follows. Housing policy is overseen by the Housing & Building Standards Committee.

The Housing Maintenance Ordinance is meant to decelerate the deterioration of residential properties and prevent the depreciation of property values in Arcadia.

The Housing Ordinance is to regulate the use of residential and commercial housing in the City of Arcadia and promote health, safety, and welfare. It also provides standards and requirements for the use of residential dwelling units.

The Fair Housing Ordinance complies with State requirements and prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex or place of birth in regard to housing accommodations within the City of Arcadia and allows equal opportunity to all persons to live in decent housing facilities.
